It is notorious that the debate on the crucial issues surrounding the exploration of mineral resources is centralized in Maputo and it is sporadically taken to the provinces, especially those where the projects are implemented. With the aim of reversing this scenario, the Department of Ethics, Citizenship and Development of the Catholic University of Mozambique, delegation from Pemba and the Center for Public Integrity,\u00a0signed a partnership to organize debate events and carry out socio-economic studies on Cabo Delgado.
\nThe Public Integrity Center is implementing a project, focused on Cabo Delgado, called Accountability, which aims to promote accountability for the exploitation of resources, helping civil society, the media in improving their capacity to monitor projects, as well as engaging with the Provincial Government and Provincial Assembly, on the one hand, in order to improve their intervention in the supervision of projects, and, on the other hand, for the institution of accountability mechanisms to the citizens of Cabo Delgado and the country , in general, and the areas where resources are exploited, in particular.
\nThe event will take place under the motto: Cabo Delgado, the new Eldorado, what options for development? it is open to the participation of the provincial government, members of the Cabo Delgado Provincial Assembly, Deputies of the Assembly of the Republic, the academic community, civil society, private sector, religious leaders and communities.<\/span><\/p>\n
