The launch of the 2019 Open Budget Survey comes as the COVID-19 pandemic has been taking its toll worldwide. The threat to public health, the damage to national economies and the disruption of daily life is shocking and frightening as citizens around the world struggle to contain the virus and reduce its impact.<\/p>\n

It is in this context that this research coordinated by the International Budget Partnership (IBP), carried out in 117 countries and in Mozambique in partnership with the Center for Public Integrity, becomes increasingly relevant as the budget will play a central role in the government's responses to this virus and all the consequences it brings.<\/p>\n
