On 28 November 2014, the Mozambican government approved the decree-law establishing the special legal and contractual regime applicable to the Liquefied Natural Gas Project (LNG) in areas 1 and 4 of the Rovuma basin, as a result of the negotiations with the American and Italian multinationals, Anadarko and Eni, respectively, for the viability of the natural gas discovered in that basin, located in the province of Cabo Delgado, in the north of the country.
