The Mozambican government is preparing the revision of the Electricity Law in force since 1997, with a view to adapting it to attract investments for the sector, as one of the fundamental objectives. However, the scope of the review should be extended to other matters, with emphasis on the creation of a regulatory authority for the electricity sector, which is one of the instruments that could make the objective set out and intended by the Government viable.
