What is the price Mozambique has to pay for widespread corruption in the country? What is the cost of corruption for the Mozambican economy, the state and its people? The present study aims to provide succinct answers to these questions.

In short: the price of corruption, as observed over the last ten years in a sample case, is up to 4.9 billion US Dollars, equivalent to about 30% of 2014 GDP and 60% of the general budget of the state for 2015. This burden caused by corruption is certainly harmful for the budget, for the economy, for business and for development and socioeconomic well-being.
