Contract transparency is a growing phenomenon in resource-rich countries, gradually becoming a global norm, and the EITI has just raised the level of commitment to transparency with the approval, at the recent Board meeting held in Kiev, of the mandatory publication of contracts and addenda from 2021. Mozambique has already taken important steps by starting, in 2013, with the publication of some contracts, the approval, in 2014, of the Mining and Petroleum Laws that guarantee the publication of contracts. However, there is no consistency in the Government's commitment to publish all contracts, as since December 3, 2013 to this part, no new contracts have been made public.
